Who’s That Game Character? — Streamer.bot + OBS Setup Guide (User Instructions)
This guide covers everything a user can do with the widget inside Streamer.bot + OBS Studio: importing, configuring settings, triggering the game, and adding the overlay as a Browser Source. No code required.
What You’re Installing
You’re setting up an interactive live-stream game where viewers guess a silhouetted video game character before the timer expires. The overlay displays the character image, timer, and reveal state, while Streamer.bot handles:
- Starting and ending rounds
- Reading chat guesses
- Announcing winners (or no-winner)
- Optional Discord webhook posting
- Cross-platform chat messaging (Twitch / YouTube / Kick)
Requirements
- OBS Studio
- Streamer.bot (connected to your streaming platforms)
- A Browser Source in OBS Studio for the overlay
- Streamer.bot’s WebSocket Server enabled (for overlay communication)
Step 1 — Import into Streamer.bot
- Open Streamer.bot
- Go to Import (usually from the top menu or “Import” button depending on your layout)
